In an authoritative summary Dr. Derek Ratcliffe, author of the standard monograph on the Peregrine, discusses the history and conservation of the Anglesey birds.Charles Tunnicliffe (1901-1979) became one of the most famous and successful book illustrators of his time, illustrating such classics as Going Fishing, The Old Man and The Sea and Salar the Salmon. He also was one of the world's finest bird artists, as this book so well shows. One of his full color reproductions of the Peregrine Falcon is on the front of the dust jacket.
